The first month towards the Golden Celebration

Starting the month of June, St. Joseph the Worker parish will be holding a one-year preparation for their incoming 50th anniversary. Each month, parishoners have prepared different activities and events which would be in line with the theme they have for that month.

Just last June 30, Sunday, they held their culmination for their event, “Gathering of Families” with the theme, “Go for Gold, St. Joseph!” The activities for the whole month involves participation of families representing their different zones.

One of the main highlights of the activities was the Family Cooking Contest, sponsored by the Family and Life Apostolate. Mr. Edgar Rocete and family, from Zone 5 won the first prize; Mr. Edwin Pasaoa and family, from Zone 9, for the 2nd prize; and Mr. Ben Morada and family, from Zone 3, for the third prize.

Another highlight was the Family Poster Making Contest, sponsored by the St. Joseph Devotees. Mr. Eduardo M. Rosales, Jr. and family, from Zone 4, won the First prize; Reynaldo B. Alegre, Jr. and family, from Zone 9, won the 2nd prize; and Mr. Matt Jason O. Completado and family, from Zone 5, won the third prize.

Next month, their event would be “Gathering of Music Lovers”, with the theme, “The Golden Voice for St. Joseph.” Their highlighted event would be the Gozos Contest on July 28, Sunday, and would be held in the Fr. Godbout Center of the parish.
