Fr. Bantiles is HCDC’s new VP for Academic Affairs

Upon election by the majority vote of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), Rev. Fr. Russell A. Bantiles was appointed as the new Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA).

His appointment took place last August 20 during the BOT’s regular meeting and will last until August 2017.

Fr. Bantiles replaced Dr. Hernane I. Carillo who retired from service last July 31. Carillo served the institution for 13 years.

Fr. Bantiles is a diocesan priest and a graduate of Doctor of Philosophy and a summa cum laude at the University of Navarra, a private Pontifical University based at the southeast border of Pamplona, Spain.

He is a professor in the seminary and a resident priest at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Obrero, Davao City.

He also served as Editor-in-Chief in 2007 of the Asia’s oldest Catholic newspaper, the Davao Catholic Herald.
Prior to his being the school’s vice president for academic affairs, Fr. Bantiles is already active in the institution as a resource speaker in enriching Catholic piety and devotion. (MVentura/pr)
