150 Mindanao lay to celebrate year of the laity at Bangkal parish

The Kahiusahan sa mga Layko sa Mindanao (KALAMI) will gather at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal for the Mindanao Lay Gathering on Peace, Climate Change and Human Trafficking, to be held on December 12-15, 2014.  So grateful to the blessing of Davao Archbishop Romulo G. Valles, about 150 lay delegates from various dioceses in Mindanao, as far as CARAGA from the Northeast, as far as Zamboanga Peninsula from the Northwest, and as far as SOCCSKSARGEN from the South, confirmed their participation for the said lay gathering at the OLLP to culminate the Year of the Laity.  The MSPC youth also confirmed participation for the said occasion.

OLLP Parish Priest Father Dexter Veloso ensured support for the said great event.  With the Formation Ministry as the Working Committee, the PSKs of 25 parish GKKs identified host families to foster the lay delegates; and the Worship Ministry, including the parish choir, had initialized their plans for the Liturgy. The Opening and the Culminating Eucharists are expectedly to be officiated by visiting Bishops to be invited by the KALAMI. With a theme, “Ang LAYKO: Gitawag sa Pagkabalaan, Gitawag sa Paglihok ning Hagit sa Bag-ong Panahon”, this great event of the Culmination of the Year of the Laity will also celebrate the 9th Regional Gathering of the Mindanao Laity, and the 25th Anniversary of the KALAMI.
