Peace and One-sided Justice

Many of our people today are caught up with evil, malicious movements pretending to save the nation, yet are fomenting hatred and murder as you see by the end result. In their clamor for justice they multiply the killings of co-Filipinos, all under the guise of justice. Yet in reality that was out of pure revenge. Is it justice to incite to hatred and multiply murders? Yet that is the running phenomenon. They seem to say: ‘I will not give you peace unless you give me justice’.

God’s Word says: “Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. By doing good to your enemies you will put them to shame for their evil deeds” (Rom.12:21). “Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you that you may be called sons of the Most High God” (Mt. 5:45). The justice of God and His followers does not depend too much on that of others. Whether others do right or wrong, the just man is firm in doing good to others. Contrariwise, the false prophets are preaching hatred and revenge. So watch for the signs! You know a tree by its fruit (Mt. 7:15).
