Eucharist, Family discussed at ACLAIM Convention

“Happy and satisfied,” remarked ACLAIM’s Spiritual Director Msgr. Paul A. Cuison, JCD as he thanked the 52 communities that participated in the 5th annual ACLAIM Congress held at the Regional Major Seminary, Catalunan Grande, October 10.

There were two speakers who centered their talk on “The Family and the Eucharist.” Our Lady of Assumption Parish Priest Fr. Hermie Garcia, SSS discussed about “Eucharist and Mission” in which he challenged all to be focused in attending the Mass reminding each one to strive for transformation. Family and Life Apostolate Director Fr. Orly Angelia, D.C.D. talked about “Eucharist, the Source and Fountain of Life for the Christian Family.” He said that “without the Eucharist there will never be a stable Christian Family.” Fr. Orly also emphasized that conjugal love and the family life are being threatened with Divorce, Euthanasia, Abortion, Total Fertilization, and Homosexuality nowadays. “Parents should promote the culture of Christian Life in the Family and that is in the Eucharist.”

ACLAIM President Dr. Mike T. Manalaysay said that he is happy to see growing communities who are actively participating. ACLAIM celebrates 18 years of existence this year. It is the umbrella organization of all the lay movements in the Archdiocese of Davao. Currently, there are 57 communities under ACLAIM. (Tine Subang)
