The Closing of the Jubilee Door of Mercy

The closing of the Jubilee Door of Mercy in Rome will be done today by Pope Francis while here in the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Davao will be done by Archbishop Romulo Valles with a Mass tomorrow, November 14, Monday at 5:30 in the afternoon.

Pope Francis proclaimed the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy as “a time when the witness of believers might grow stronger and more effective.” To witness this “grace-filled moments, and discover a path to conversion,” parish recollections, confessions and pilgrimages, visits to prisoners and the sick, establishment of the Archdiocesan Nourishment Center in Fatima and in Bucana, in collaboration with the government program against drug and rehabilitation of victims as in Sagup Kinabuhi Program 2 are among the many accomplishments that the local church of Davao enjoyed during this Jubilee Year of Mercy.

As we close the Door of Mercy, we must continue share the fruits of mercy, reach out to all of humankind and show God’s tenderness. “May the balm of mercy reach everyone, both for believers and non-believers, and those near and far away, as a sign that the kingdom of God is already present in our midst.”
