2017 Year of the Parish Basic Information

1. Date: November 29, 2016 – November 26, 2017

2. Launching @ Archdiocese of Davao:
December 31, 2016 (Evening) – January 1, 2017 and January 8, 2017

3. Theme: “Forming, Sustaining, Strengthening, and Living out BECs of Communion, Participation and Mission.”

4. Objectives:

Main Objective: A deeper understanding and appreciation of the parish as a communion of communities

Working Specific Objectives:
By the end of the year 2017,

1. parishioners shall have gained a better understanding and appreciation of the parish as an integral part of the Archdiocese of Davao;
2. BECs/GKKs shall have gained a better understanding and appreciation of their respective Christian Communities.
3. as stipulated in the yellow book on p7 & Art. 6,p14 , a closer complementarity of BECs/GKKs and our Faith Communities (ACLAIM) as integral part of the parish community (EG 28-29).

5. Identified Initial Activities:

1. Planning on January 2017 among the Pastoral Agencies & Key Ministries/Apostolates for coordination and integration of ministerial activities for the year 2017.
2. One-Day Gathering at the GKK Level mobilizing the Pundok Banay.
3. Parish Level Gathering on June 11,2017 during the Trinity Sunday. (Nationwide celebration).
4. During the Launching, the following will be considered: Tarpaulins, Prayers of the Faithful, Announcement @ Radio and Herald, Introduction (Mass/KSP).

6. Note Well: Ultimately, the celebration would lead to the enrichment of families since BECs/GKKs and Faith Communities are a Communion of Families.
