Mary as a Mother

Motherhood to Mama Mary meant embracing the will of GOD. Full of grace, every beat of her heart was a “yes” to GOD.

As a mother, Mama Mary knew she was lowly, yet favored. She was joyful as she accepted the danger and inconvenience, and material poverty of her pregnancy. Unafraid, Mother Mary pondered on the sword that will pierce her heart. In her Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55), Mama Mary was a worshipper who magnified the LORD in all HIS works. Mary was, and forever is, a humble, joyful, suffering, courageous, prayerful, worshipping mother.

At the foot of the dying JESUS, Mary accepted us as her children. Her Immaculate heart, inseparable from the Sacred Heart of JESUS, was made for us sinners. She is a mother to terrorists, abortionists, addicts, saints, and holy men — loving all for her SON. Repentance and transformation assures us a spot in her motherly heart. Giving our own “yes” to GOD, we all have an ally in Mother Mary.

JESUS, even as HE is GOD, is also fully human. HE listened to Mama Mary and did what she asked for. Let us remember that we have a mother who will speak and stand for us till “the hour of our death.” JESUS mercy, Mama Mary help!
