U-LOL 2017 brings youth to serve communities

ULOL HCDC“We are heroes, me and you!”, remarked by Bro. Lanzi Borromeo, the guest speaker of this year’s U-LOL (U Laugh Out Loud with the Lord) as hundreds of religious studies students of the Holy Cross of Davao College held the event on May 5-6 at the HCDC gym.

Organized by the school’s Religious Education Department, Campus Ministry Office and the Office of the Students Affairs, it aimed to rekindle the spirit of enthusiasm among the youth in helping their communities through witnessing the loving Christ in a two-day affair. The event started with the Veneration of the Cross then the Holy Eucharist.

Mr. Armando Dura, Students Affairs Office coordinator and former campus minister said that, “U-LOL this year is connected to the Church’s theme for this year, Communion of Communities.” “Through the guidance of the ReEd Department with the help of our office and the Campus Ministry office, we envision through this gathering of the youth that this event will become an eye opener to them in serving their communities like the GKK and Parishes.”

Mr. Dura added that “just as expected the event was successful and filled with joy and excitement. We will expect more positive responses on the upcoming years of U- LOL!”

The first U-LOL happened in October 2009. It was an offshoot of the 2006 National Youth Day which was hosted by the Archdiocese of Davao. (Troy Angelo L. Elvinia | SASP SoCCom | Photo: The CrossTV)
