Nazareno parish is 2 years old, cooling system installed
The Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Nazareno Parish celebrated its second fiesta last June 11, 2017. Located in Bermudez, Apokon, Davao del Norte, Diocese of Tagum, parishioners gathered at the Holy Eucharist presided over by Most Reverend Bishop Wilfredo D. Manlapaz, D.D.
In his homily, he emphasized the communion of the trinity and related it to the celebration of the Year of the Parish themed as, “The Parish as Communion of Communities.”
The parish is a recipient of the original replica of the image of the Poong Nazareno of Quiapo, Manila. This is the second parish of the diocese of Tagum, next to San Pedro Quasi Parish of Gamao, Panabo City, that has been equipped with cooling system.
Parish priest, Fr. Emerson Luego thanked parishioners in helping build the parish and to their devotion to Poong Nazareno and the local government unit officials who supported the installation of the cooling system. He said that in order to facilitate a prayerful atmosphere and convenience for all the parishioners and devotees, the church has been fully air-conditioned, just recently.
Fr. Luego invites all the devotees of Poong Nazareno to visit the image and celebrate mass in the parish. The Parish is also convenient with any mass celebrations especially for wedding. For reservations, according to him, interested parties may contact parish office 0998-995-6101.
Masses are scheduled on Sunday at this schedule: Morning at 4:30, 5:45, 7:00, 8:15, 9:30, 11:00 Baptism/Confirmation, and in the afternoon at 12:00, 3:30, 4:45, 6:00, 7:15.
This is the second fiesta celebration since its erection as a parish last March 20, 2016. (Fr. Victor Lechido | Tagum SoCCom Director)
