LMS pilgrims honor Mary, pray for Protestants

Davao City — In connection with the celebration on the Year of Parish, “Communion of Communities”, Catholics in Southern Mindanao held the 3rd Catholic Pilgrimage on July 22, 2017 with the theme “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph… quodcumque dixerti vobis facite” as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal and in honor of her Immaculate Heart.

As Our Lady said, “God wishes us to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.”

The central meaning of the message of Fatima is the exhortation to prayer as the path of “salvation for souls” and, likewise, the summon to penance and conversion particularly reparation prayer for the Protestant Revolution and thanksgiving for the 10th year of Summorum Pontificum.

Organized by the Latin Mass Society of Davao under the spiritual guidance of Rev. Fr. Russell Bantiles, pilgrims visited different Churches. The registration started at 6 am in the Shrine of the Holy Infant of Prague, Matina, Davao City, then adoration to the Blessed Sacrament followed.

Churches visited were San Pablo Parish, San Pedro Cathedral, Sta. Ana Shrine Parish, Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish (Obrero), and St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish in Buhangin. Culminating “the journey” was a Holy Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (TLM) at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, Buhangin.
