Saint Joseph of Cupertino

St. Joseph of Cupertino was hardworking, simple, and a cheerful member of the Franciscan order. He would rather spend his time in the stables of their monastery taking care of the animals than to study. But the visiting vicar general of their order saw potential in him and wanted him to study and prepare for priesthood. The grueling hours of study took its toll on others who were tutoring him. It was said that he only had a short-term memory, and with his condition, everybody was resigned that failure was just around the corner. However, this saintly Franciscan, with the help of grace, hurdled all the tests and was eventually ordained a priest. Thus, he became the patron for all those taking exams.

St. Joseph is also the patron saint of aviators. He was known to levitate often, especially when celebrating Mass. Furthermore, to appreciate the life of this saint, we highly recommend to everyone to watch the movie, “The Reluctant Saint.” Like every saint, he is an inspiration to us all who want to please God always.
