Its main purpose is to give the students the opportunity to showcase their talents in their respective subject area. In English language, it enhances fluency and develop oral communication.

In Davao City Division, the English Department of Cluster two is composed of; Ma-a, Talomo, Duterte, Mabini, DRANHS, SPED, Pequeño, Soriano and Magtuod National High Schools. The English Cluster Coordinators headed by Mr. Joel Quiratman have agreed that Catalunan Pequeño National High School will be the host for this year’s event. The main purpose of this activity is to search for the best contestants to represent the cluster for the Division level.

There were three events being contested. These are the Jazz Chants, Readers Theater and the 21st Century Wizard. For the Jazz Chants competition which was participated by the Grade 7 students, the third place went to Gov. Duterte National High School, the second place was won by Mabini National High School and the Champion went to Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School. According to ma’am Lorna T. Matheson, one of the judges in all the events, “the performers are all deserving of the awards because they have performed their best and they are all good. But we have to choose the best among them.” For Mrs. Rhoda T. Sazon of 91-2 Rizal Extension, Davao City and a mother of Franz Jerick T. Sazon of Davao City Special Educational School said, “Masayang-masaya at proud ako nang makita ko ang anak ko na nag perform sir; proud ako sa kanya dahil first time kong dumalo sa ganitong mga patimpalak”. (I am so happy and proud seeing my son performing sir, because this is my first time to witness an event like this). For Mr. Joel Quiratman, our English Cluster Coordinator have emphasized that, “in spite of some lapses, we have to move on because our main purpose is to choose the best contingents for our cluster in the division level.”
