Refuge and path that leads to God

The days for the Centennial Anniversary of the apparitions of the Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal are almost over. How have you personally or communally celebrated this precious opportunity?

From November 27, 2016 to November 26, 2017, Pope Francis decided to grant a plenary indulgence to all the faithful as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of the Our Lady of Fatima. This plenary indulgence can be obtained ordinarily through Confession and Holy Communion, interior detachment from sin, and prayer for the intentions of the Pope.

What a relevant and timely occasion this is for us amidst a world torn apart by wars, division, confusion, greed and pleasure. This precious time of God’s grace to take refuge and to find the path that leads to God can be done even after this centennial celebration. If you cannot make pilgrimages to Fatima Shrines due to valid reasons, like poor health, you may visit with devotion a statue of the Our Lady of Fatima and pray the Our Father, the Creed and an invocation to the Blessed Mother.

Let us take refuge and find the path that leads to God through Mama Mary who says: “My Immaculate heart will lead you to God.”
