Say “yes” to God’s invitation

“Since sin was first committed by our first parents, Adam and Eve, there will always be a struggle and there will always be an enmity between us and the serpent,” CBCP President Arch. Romulo Valles said during the University of the Immaculate Conception Fiesta last Friday, 8th of December.

The following are some of the beautiful words of Archbishop Valles in his homily:

First: “Satan will always be there. We don’t have perfect hearts. We do not have immaculate hearts. There will always be imperfection. The struggle can be bitter,” he said. But the most important thing according to Archbishop Valles is that, God has not abandoned our first parents.

Second: “He spoke to them. He searched for them. God is watching over us even if we sin. Even if we are sinful, His eyes are so loving; looking and searching for us.”

Third: “Already, we can see a hint that God will do something.”

Fourth:
“In Her, will begin the act of definitive salvation. The Son of God, She will give birth. She will conceive the Son of God.”

Fifth: “Even without completely understanding the whole thing, Mary said, I’d like to be part of His Kingdom. I am a servant of God.”

Finally, Archbishop Valles dared the young students of the University of the Immaculate Conception to be like the Blessed Mother.

According to the Archbishop, the challenge starts today, if the youth hear the voice of God asking them to become His servants and they will say yes like the ‘yes’ of Mary then God can make their hearts Immaculate again. The only obstacle is if the youth will answer ‘no’ to God’s invitation. That is the end of the challenge. Constantly, God calls the youth… God speaks to them; inspiring them; and all it takes is to say ‘yes’ to God’s invitation.
