Lakbay Laum: Pilgrim Youth Cross and St. John Paul II – A Journey of Faith and Hope

When Faith is walked together, hope grows brighter – a beacon in the darkness!

On August 4, 2025, the SPCT community came together for the Lakbay-Laum Pilgrimage — a sacred journey uniting students, faculty, and staff in prayer and solidarity. This meaningful walk was part of the Davao Archdiocesan Youth Coordinating Apostolate (DAYCA) and the Archdiocesan Commission on Youth’s prayer program for the celebration of the Ordinary Jubilee Year 2025, designed specifically for young pilgrims to journey through the Jubilee Year with intention and faith. Through Lakbay-Laum, the youth of the archdiocese are encouraged to celebrate the Jubilee in a meaningful, active, and conscious manner, deepening their spiritual experience during this sacred time.

The Saint Peter’s College of Toril, Inc. was privileged to take part in this Archdiocesan activity in celebration of the Jubilee Year of Hope. The Pilgrim Cross and the image of St. John Paul II will be handed from one parish to another, penetrating all the GKKs. The school was blessed to welcome these two sacred treasures, embracing the opportunity to be enriched by the grace they bring. Step by step, the faithful walked as one, carrying intentions in their hearts and hope in their souls.

The day’s journey was more than a physical walk — it was a pilgrimage of hope that strengthened the SPCT community’s faith. United in spirit, they participated in a solemn welcome procession, Eucharistic Adoration, an insightful input on Pope Francis’ Spes non confundit (Hope Does Not Disappoint) and Dilexit Nos (He Loved Us), Bible sharing, Taizé prayer, and student-led reflections on the life of St. John Paul II. Each moment deepened their devotion and became a powerful reminder that, with faith and hope shared as one, no one walks the path toward grace and light alone.
