St Francis of Assisi Parish Ma-a altar servers investiture 2025

81 KOA Servers Invested

After many weeks of extensive training and formation sessions, 81 Knights of the Altar (KOA) servers, both new and old, underwent investiture rites during a 9am mass presided over by St. Francis of Assisi Parish – Ma-a Parish priest, Fr. Russell Bantiles.

They wore their new black sotanas during the Eucharistic celebration, signifying their utmost dedication to serve in the parish’s mass and other religious activities.

Fr. Russel consulted the Parish Pastoral Committee, the GKK Servant leaders, and the server’s parents for this new movement in the parish.

Bro. Vincent Nacilla was appointed by Fr. Russel as KOA moderator to guide, teach, and encourage the young religious servants.

Starting September 28, 2025, the servers are required to wear their new black sotanas, retiring the old white set, while serving in their scheduled masses and parish events.

As altar servers, they are expected by the SFAP Ma-a community to remain reverend during their service, and represent themselves as a role model to young boys and young men who desire to serve in the church. (Pamela Caroline V. Millabe | St. Francis of Assisi Parish – Ma-a SocCom)
