Prayer of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love: A Prayer Concert with the AJC Sisters and Padre Pio Kids

On December 10, 2024, the Apostles of Jesus Crucified (AJC) Sisters hosted their second Prayer Concert at the Padre Pio Formation and Spirituality Center. Designed to aid the faithful in their spiritual preparations for Christmas, the concert focused on the four themes of hope, peace, joy, and love, drawing inspiration from the essence of Advent.

The event commenced with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, setting the tone for a deeply reflective and prayerful evening. Each theme—hope, peace, joy, and love—was introduced with corresponding songs, Scripture readings, and intercessions that encouraged reflection and devotion.

A significant highlight was during the theme of peace, when candles were lit as a powerful symbol of the participants’ commitment to work toward unity and harmony in their lives and communities.

Although inclement weather limited the number of in-person attendees, the concert reached a wider audience through Facebook Live, where nearly 3,000 viewers joined in prayer and reflection from their homes. The digital engagement demonstrated the power of technology to unite the faithful in prayer, even amidst challenging circumstances.

The evening concluded solemnly as the Blessed Sacrament was reposed, leaving the participants with hearts full of hope, peace, joy, and love as they journeyed toward the celebration of Christ’s nativity.

The concert’s opening message emphasized the essence of Advent as a time of preparation and reflection. Drawing from Luke 21:34-36, the faithful were reminded to remain vigilant, focusing on Christ rather than the distractions of the world. In the words of the introduction:

“Poor and weak as we are, let us open our hearts and dispose our souls to be infused with God’s grace. Let us meet the Lord in His sacrament of love with full confidence and awareness of His unfathomable mercy,” Sr. Ma. Domenicia said.

With a procession of the Bible to the altar crib and the heartfelt rendition of “O Come, Divine Messiah,” the concert highlighted the call to bring Christ into our hearts, making the Advent season a time of hope-filled anticipation and deep communion with God.
