Heart to Service and Leadership towards the Environment

Every young person in the world has a unique characteristic, talents, and skills built upon them that can contribute to any aspect of society which is proven by a young Davaoeño.

At the age of seventeen (17) Terence Vicente, a senior high school student in Davao City has the heart for leadership and service which is admirable for his active participation both outside and inside of school.

Vicente is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Davao City Youth for Green Environment, Incorporated (DCYGE Inc.) since 2023 that leads the youth from different parts of Davao City, aiming for the betterment of the environment with the initiative through clean-up drives, tree planting, gardening and other environment-related activities.

His dedication and passion as an eco-warrior brought him to be a resource speaker for an environmental awareness program in Barangay Communal and Cabantian and during the Davao City Linggo ng Kabataan 2025, Green Brigade Program that aims to educate the youth about the current issues of the environment and also encouraging them to take actions to prevent and to avoid the environmental problem.

Vicente’s leadership fluttered as he was also a member of junior department heads in the city information office in 2023 and 2024 which acted as the youth counterpart of the City Government of Davao’s Executive, Council, and Department Officers.

His good leadership made him a volunteer in the National Youth Commission which focuses on youth promotion and development programs that can enhance their potential as partners in nation building through active participation in government and non-government programs.

Even though he has engagement outside the school, Vicente is also commendable towards his school performance as he is a consistent honor student and vice president of JMarian Student Council senior high.

Terence Vicente is a good example that his age is not an obstacle when it comes to advocating for the best of the environment.
