Children at Risk from Different Churches to Unite in Prayer
In celebration of the World Weekend of Prayer, children at risk from the different churches in Davao City will unite in prayer on June 7 – 8, 2025.
Organizing this worldwide event in Davao City is the Mindanao Children’s Ministries Network (MCMN) headed by Leah Yebes Genson. In a zoom meeting with heads of local churches in Davao City May 22, 2025, Genson said that children will be gathered in prayer with the youth, mentors/adults per church, organization, or barangay.
The first event will be held on June 7 at Rizal Park from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM for Districts 1 and 2. A similar event will be held at Toril District Hall on June 8 at 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM for District 3.
The World Weekend of Prayer also serves as a means for engaging children in prayer to build their capacity and encourage leadership; it also gives children and adults an opportunity to pray with and for children. This year’s theme is Life in All Its Fullness.
Aside from encouraging children to pray, the event will have a community singing of the theme, a discussion on Safety of Children Online, and Good Treatment Campaign. The City Social Welfare and Development Office will also present the situation of children and other social issues that challenge the protection of children.
