Called To Be Forgiving Just Like The Father
Celebrating the Prison Awareness Sunday is a time to see the design plan of God to every human person: To experience joy and fullness of life. As human beings, we easily forget, weak, sinners, and easily be tempted. In the society there is a jail to connect the crime committed. There is a violation of the laws. As a result, one is deprived of liberty. One is locked inside the jail.
As Christians, we believe in God who is love and mercy. We are bound to proclaim the salvation of God. Jesus said “I came to proclaim good news to the poor and freedom to captives.”
In the Gospel of Matthew 25:34-40, whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me… when I was in prison, did you visit me?”
What is the prison awareness Sunday? It is an awareness of the presence of God Jesus especially to the persons deprived of liberty. We renew our minds and hearts to see them who need mercy and compassion.
Let the grace and power of God be our conviction to help them in their needs. Let us support those inside and outside the jails. We love and accept them as what they are “Kung ang Dios ay nagpapatawad, ako pa kaya na isang nilalang at makasalanan.”
