Saint Francis Xavier Parish Manay 128th Fiesta 2025

Manay Celebrates 128th Parochial Fiesta amidst Doublet Earthquake Destruction

The Saint Francis Xavier Parish in Manay, marking 128 years of fruitful service to the faithful, stood firm in faith and devotion despite the devastation brought by the doublet earthquake that recently struck the town. The celebration became a powerful testimony of the community’s unwavering spirit, deep faith, and unity through the intercession of their beloved patron, Saint Francis Xavier.

The Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Most Rev. Abel C. Apigo, D.D., Bishop of Mati, and concelebrated by twenty-five priests from different parishes and three deacons, gathered the lay faithful from various GKKs. Their coming together amidst destruction became a living sign of resilience and solidarity, proving that faith can never be shaken even by nature’s strongest tremors. In his homily, Bishop Apigo reflected on the power of faith amid destruction, urging the faithful to remain steadfast and hopeful. He reminded them, “Ang atong pag-anhi—pagpadayag nato sa hugot nga pagsalig sa Dios nga walay makababag sa atong pagsimba Kaniya.”

The 128th Parochial Fiesta became more than a commemoration of the parish’s long history. It was a celebration of enduring faith and community strength. The faithful of Manay transformed their sorrow into thanksgiving, finding in the Eucharist a source of hope and renewal.

Amidst the ruins left by the doublet earthquake, and even as Manay continues to experience earthquakes and aftershocks, the people have shown that their faith stands unbroken. The 128th Parochial Fiesta of Saint Francis Xavier Parish served as a moving reminder that even in moments of fear and loss, the light of faith continues to shine. United under St. Francis Xavier’s example of mission and service, the parish community looks forward to rebuilding not just structures but hearts that are rooted in faith, strengthened by hope, and inspired by love.
