Remembering the Saints and the Souls

November 1 and November 2 are the days we commemorate for the saints and the departed souls. The two days are connected, representing the “communion of saints” that includes the living, those in purgatory, and those in heaven. Both days are in celebration of our Catholic faith that we honor the men and women who were sinners and saints but has lived a meaningful life or has touched the life of those around them when they were still here on earth.

As a tradition we go to church; we go to the memorial cemeteries; and we offer prayers as a testimony that we always remember them as sinners and saints. Their memories will continue to live- on. The Catholic Church will always commemorate and solemnized the Saints; while the families will also keep and honor the memories of their departed souls.

The saints will intercede for us as we intercede for our faithful departed.
