International Eucharistic Congress: Catholic Sustenance for Christian Life

In life, a momentous event becomes meaningful and is worth remembering.

The Eucharist is an event. Jesus says it again and again: “Do this in memory of me.”

A Eucharistic Congress may not be the Eucharist in a form of celebration and adoration yet this is Christ in action.

The International Eucharistic Congress started in France as a fruit of the Eucharistic apostolate of St. Peter-Julian Eymard who is known as ‘the apostle of the Eucharist.’

In the Congress, where conferences are prepared, awareness to the centrality of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Catholic Church is intensified. The faithful are nourished by understanding through study, research, prayer, meditation and reflection. It helps in the improvement of our love and participation in the celebration of the Mass. The social dimension of the Eucharist is explained and planned out in our experience.

For us Filipinos, this is a year of grace as a nation. We are favoured to host the congress for the second time as we journey towards the 500th year of Christian faith.
