Divine Mercy Sunday
“Throughout the world, the second Sunday of Easter will receive the name Divine Mercy Sunday, a perennial invitation to the Christian World to face, with confidence in divine benevolence, the difficulties and trials that humankind will experience in the years to come.” This was decreed by the Congregation for Divine Worship in Rome on May 23, 2000 as St. Faustina Kowalska, who was canonized by St. John Paul II on April 30, 2000 promoted the devotion to the Divine Mercy.
We hope and pray that as we benefit from the compassion and forgiveness of the Risen Lord, we may choose not the short cut solution when difficulties and trials in life come. We pray that we may opt to discern well and be enlightened by God’s wisdom in handling the test of time. May we be filled with trust in his saving mercy and strength when we encounter heavy loads and burdens.
For the sake of Jesus’ sorrowful passion, may the King of Mercy, have mercy on us and of the whole world!
