Wait

Within the season of Advent is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It could be providential for us to celebrate this season with Mama Mary journeying with us. She could be our inspiration us in our celebration of this season.

As in the past and even now, the Blessed Mother echoes the longing of each one’s heart to see and experience redemption. She journeys with each of us today as we wish for liberation from burdens, conflicts and imperfections. For the 9 months, she waited for Jesus to be born after she conceived of him. She waited for his disciples to learn from him. She waited for the fruits of his labors in the ministry. And she continues to wait for the renewal of the community of faith, the Church.

We need to lean from the attitude of Mama Mary, the Immaculate Mother, as we joyfully wait for the fulfilment of God’s reign in our midst.
