Graduation Season
It is graduation season again. Time for conferring degrees during graduation ceremony; time for wearing togas or academic gowns; time for quarreling relatives or separated parents to be in one occasion for celebration.
In the Philippines, graduation is celebrated with too much fanfare. It is because Filipinos give too much importance on education. The healthy economic presence of education plans in the country would mean that there are still parents who patronize education plans even after the collapse of CAP (College Assurance Plan) more than a decade ago.
It is also dubbed as only in the Philippines that homes are decorated with school medals or academic certificates with lavish or simple frames to attract the attention of visitors or house guests.
It is very cultural and very Filipino that graduation ceremonies are welcomed with pride by parents or guardians whether their children receive honors or in the last list of the graduation roll. In fact, every parent considers graduation as the pinnacle of their success as parents.
Congratulations to our graduates!
