Purple Friday in DPWH Davao District for Women’s Month

In support of the celebration of International Women’s Month, the Department of Public Works and Highways Davao City District Engineering Office has joined in the Purple Friday initiative.

Every Friday for the whole month of March which is celebrated as International Women’s Month, employees and job order personnel of the DPWH DCDEO were encouraged to wear outfits in purple tones which is also the color of the celebration of Women’s Month.

The initiative began last March 8, 2019 wherein the staff wore purple in support of their women colleagues and all women of the world.

Last March 11, during their Monday Flag raising ceremony, a short program to celebrate Women’s Month was organized.

A talk on the different issues concerning women was also presented as well as the different laws and ordinances that protect women and children.

The Acting Assistant District Engineer, Joselito M. Jamito said he is thankful for the said occasion as it opened their eyes on the realities and issues that affect women.
