Livelihood education for ALS women in Panacan awaited

ALS Women Panacan CookeryThe Alternative Learning System Tibungco district gives chance to the women’s group in Barangay Panacan to avail the DepEd programs on livelihood education this academic year 2019-2020.

“Walay problema basta interesado sila na mo-eskwela sulod sa unom ka bulan,” Corsame stressed out upon their conversation. Adding, “This is free and this is also their chance to attain knowledge in Cooking through the concept given by ALS.”

Sir Rusty Salazar Corsame, LPT, one of the InFed Facilitators teaching Cookery, have talked with the President of the Women’s organization in Barangay Panacan Ma’am Maguinda Apostol Blando last January and they discussed the possibility of women’s enrollment to the program. Ma’am Blando assured the interest of her members to undergo the training since they have discussed it already in their meetings. “…interested gayud sila na makakat-on,” Blando stated.

Upon enrollment, 23 members of Panacan Womens Group registered in the program and entitled to undergo training for six months.

Ate Siony Iliw-Iliw, a widow from Sunrise Village Panacan, Davao City is very inspired to her cookery training and she believes that it could help her to earn a living. “Dako kaayo ang akong pasalamat sa Ginoo na nakakaplag ako niini kay makatabang kini kanako,” she said. “Salamat gayud sa ALS TIBUNGCO DISTRICT labi na ka Sir Rusty Salazar Corsame na maoy nag-inspire kanako ug sa akong mga kaubanan,” she said.

The program is supported by the Barangay Captain of Panacan, Capt. Doce Apostol and with the initiation of Ma’am Maguinda, the group’s president. (Alvin M. Olaer, MAT)
