“Ad limina apostolorum”

editorial ad limina apostolorum mindanao“Ad limina apostolorum” which means “to the threshold of the apostles” is the so-called visit of the bishops all over the world in groups which is scheduled every five years. This is an occasion for a group of bishops to report to the Pope the status and situation of their respective local churches.

After the visit to the Pope of the Filipino bishops from Luzon and Visayas these past weeks, our beloved bishops from Mindanao headed by no less than the CBCP President and Archbishop of Davao, the Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. will be having the “ad limina” by the first week of June this year.

We are thankful to the Lord, the Good Shepherd, for giving us our bishops to lead us, His people. They bring our hopes and joys, our pains and struggles as church before the Holy Father who is the symbol of the unity of the Church throughout the world. Let us show our loyalty and communion with the church by praying for the safe and fruitful “ad limina” of our dear bishops.
