Honoring the Sacrifices of Migrants and Seafarers
As we approach Migrant’s Sunday on September 29, 2024, the Archdiocesan Commission on Migrants and Itinerant Peoples, led by Rev. Fr. Dexter Veloso, continues its mission to support our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), seafarers, and their families. These individuals, who endure immense physical and emotional challenges, contribute significantly to both local and global economies. This day reminds us to acknowledge their sacrifices and to offer prayers for their safety and well-being.
The Church’s efforts, through initiatives like the International Seafarers’ Day and collaborations with institutions, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to guiding and supporting these communities. Migrant’s Sunday is not just a celebration—it is a call to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters at sea and abroad, ensuring they remain connected to their faith and families despite the distance. Let us offer them our gratitude and prayers as they navigate life’s waves.
