Holistic Care for the Community

The Archdiocesan Nourishment Center (ANC) in Davao City is steadfast in its commitment to providing holistic nourishment to impoverished children and their families. ANC continues to make a tangible difference in the community through a range of dedicated ministries and apostolates in their six centers in Fatima, Bucana, City Dumpsite, Bankerohan, Talomo, and PME Bago.

Feeding Program: One of ANC’s cornerstone initiatives is its feeding program. This program is designed to combat malnutrition and ensures that underprivileged children receive essential nourishment. By addressing immediate nutritional needs, ANC helps restore malnourished children to good health.

Medical and Dental Services: In collaboration with the SPMC Pediatrics Department and the Philippine Dental Association – Davao Chapter, ANC offers crucial medical and dental services. Free clinics are available every Monday and Friday, providing poor children access to vital healthcare services. This partnership ensures that the healthcare needs of the community’s most vulnerable are met.

Formation for Children and Parents: ANC is also dedicated to children and their parents’ spiritual and moral development. Children are encouraged to attend formation sessions aimed at fostering strong Christian values. For parents, ANC, in partnership with Lamdag Foundation Inc., conducts monthly formation sessions. These sessions improve parenting skills and offer opportunities for developing livelihood skills, empowering families for a better future.

Educational Support: Education is a key focus for ANC. This school year, in collaboration with Rizal Memorial College, ANC has extended tertiary scholarships to its beneficiaries. Currently, 17 scholars are pursuing higher education, adding to the 30 elementary and high school scholars sponsored by Bukas Loob sa Diyos (BLD) and individual benefactors. ANC offers tutorial sessions for grade and high school scholars to support academic achievement further, enhancing their academic performance and social development.

To sustain the ministries and apostolates of ANC, the organization has initiated an annual fellowship dinner. This year, the event will be held at Mergrande Ocean Beach Resort, Talomo, Davao City, on November 22, 2024, at 5:30 PM. This fundraising activity will support the construction of ANC PME and Dumpsite feeding centers. You can join us by sponsoring our fellowship dinner or purchasing a ticket for ₱1,000. ANC is seeking partners, volunteers, and sponsors who can help us make a difference in the lives of our impoverished children.

Through these comprehensive programs, the Archdiocesan Nourishment Center remains a beacon of hope and support, fostering a brighter and healthier future for the community. The ongoing efforts of the ANC exemplify the power of community and compassion in transforming lives. (Sr. Issa Batiao, LGC | Photos by Archdiocesan Nourishment Center)
