We are the reason why He came

Since the beginning of creation, man is the center because He created him in His image and likeness. God cannot afford to allow us to be separated from Him for He destined us to be united with Him in eternal joy. At Christmas, we celebrate our sharing in His divinity as He shares in our humanity.

It is our fervent hope that the Emmanuel, God with us at Christmas, may make us truly become one with each other, not only during parties and gatherings but in our political, communal and religious life, as well. We hope that our being one as future citizens of heaven may become real in our genuine respect for the dignity of each one without strings attached when we share what we have during this season of gift giving. Like the baby Jesus who accepted His birth in poverty without fear of the power of those in position, may we also stand with pride our call to become authentic influencers of God’s true presence among us.

As we greet a joyous Christmas to everyone, may we truly see his face in each one, for we are the reason why He came!
