A Story of Hope

On April 7, 2024, my family faced one of the most painful trials of our lives. My father was wrongfully arrested for a crime he did not commit—simply because his motorcycle had been used by his friends, without his knowledge, to commit the act. He was at work in a bakeshop when the police suddenly arrived and took him away, accusing him of something he had no part in.

Being in Davao while he was in Cebu made it even more heartbreaking. I felt powerless, unable to do anything to help him. I lost all hope and cried endlessly, questioning why this was happening to our family. The weight of despair was unbearable.

But in my darkest moments, I turned to God. I prayed every day, pleading for justice, asking Him to save my father and bring him home. There were times when doubt crept in, but I held on, believing that God was listening.

One night, I had a dream of being with my father—free and happy. When I woke up, I checked my phone and saw a message from my lola: Your father is free.

The real suspect had been caught, and my father was finally released. At that moment, I knew—God had heard my prayers. All the nights of crying, all the moments of questioning, and all the desperate prayers had led to this miracle.

That experience changed me forever. I realized that no matter how hopeless things may seem, God is always working behind the scenes. He may not answer immediately, but He never fails to show up at the right time.

If there’s one thing I learned, it’s that faith isn’t about seeing—it’s about believing, even when everything around you feels impossible. This trial tested my strength, but it also deepened my trust in God. Now, I hold on to this truth: Never lose hope, because God is always with you. (Jasmine Albaracin – ACD Immersionist)
