Empowered Electorate: Dabawenyo Citizens Advocate for Hopeful Leadership in Upcoming Elections
In the election season, several individuals registered as voters to exercise their right to choose the next leaders who will serve locally, represent the nation, and honor the country. All political leaders become selfless because they serve with purpose and dignity.
Dabawenyos shared insights into various ways to participate, believing the vision aligned, having confidence that a voter chooses a good leader and lessons learned from the past that brought their inspiration and hope to the recent election.
Ana Mae Tangay, a 37-year-old homemaker and registered voter from Tibungco in Davao City, values her voting rights. She emphasizes the necessity of going to the polls and urging others to vote, viewing it as a beneficial gift to the community and emphasizing the role of community engagement in political success.
A registered voter named Marylou Ong, a 64-year-old Senior Citizen Officer from Matina Crossing in Davao City, emphasized the need of researching candidates before voting. Ong feels that voting is more than just filling out a ballot; it is also a moral decision to support the right candidate.
Another registered voter named Ejay Marces, a 26-year-old, ice cream vendor from Barangay 76 – A Bucana, Davao City, indicates his desire for political leaders who are personable and relatable. Marces acknowledged the need for politicians to back their words with actions, explained that emphasizing the necessity for accountability and genuine concern for the community.
Some people choose leaders who are God-fearing, good performance, and exhibit selflessness. As the quest for qualified leadership continues, there is a need for those who not only thrive in their professions but also maintain moral integrity and volunteer in their communities. These characteristics appeal to voters looking for reliable and compelling leaders.
As the elections approach, the community’s hopes aren’t just focused on certain candidates. The overall objective is for leaders who will sincerely serve their people.
Reflecting on previous elections, voters have learned valuable lessons. Many people underlined the significance of not being misled by charisma or personal connections and instead focused on candidates’ real performance.
As the Dabawenyo electorate prepares to vote, their united voices demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a real desire to serve the public.
