6th Marian Exhibit: Journeying with the Mother of Hope
“Our theme this year is: Journeying together with Mary, Mother of Hope and who is this Hope? Christ is this hope.” – Most. Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., Archbishop of Davao.
The 6th Archdiocesan Marian Exhibit, with the theme “Journeying Together with Mary, Mother of Hope,” drew hundreds of faithful, pilgrims, families, and mall-goers alike into a sacred space that honored the Blessed Virgin Mary, the beacon of hope for all from May 3 to May 11, 2025 at the Atrium of NCCC Victoria Plaza Mall.
Organized by the Archdiocese of Davao through Davao Verbum Dei Media Foundation, Inc., in partnership with various parishes and religious communities, the exhibit transformed the mall atrium into a gallery of Marian images from different titles and devotions, each one displayed lovingly decorated with flowers, lights, and prayers from devotees.
The theme, “Journeying Together with Mary, Mother of Hope,” could not be more timely. In a world still healing from uncertainty and division, the Church now enters the Jubilee Year of Hope, a call to renew trust in God’s promises. And who better to lead us through that journey than Mary whose own life was marked by trust in God even in the most uncertain of times.
Throughout the event’s duration, Holy Masses were celebrated, the rosary and the chaplet were prayed, and events such as the Poster-making and Essay Writing Contest, and the Marian Cosplay contests were also the highlights of the exhibit. This exhibit becomes both an affirmation and an invitation: to continue walking the path of faith with Mary by our side.
In this Jubilee Year of Hope, the exhibit reminds us that Mary is not just a figure of the past; instead, she is a living presence in the Church today. She intercedes for us, comforts us, and most importantly, points us to Jesus, the source of true hope.
As the 6th Archdiocesan Marian Exhibit comes to an end, we are reminded that Mary walks with us not as a distant queen, but as a tender mother, full of hope, faith, and love. And she invites us to journey with her, we also journey ever closer to Jesus, our true and lasting hope. (Allyza Hope J. Tabigue)
