Empowered to Evangelize: DADITAMA SoCCom Convention 2025
The DADITAMA (Davao, Digos, Tagum, Mati) Social Communications Ministry is set to gather its communicators and media ministers for a groundbreaking SoCCom Convention this June 27 to 29, 2025, at the St. Francis Xavier Regional Major Seminary of Mindanao (REMASE), Davao City. With the theme “Empowering Digital Missionary Disciples,” the convention seeks to form, equip, and inspire those who serve in the Church’s digital mission especially those called not only to inform but to evangelize through the ever-evolving digital landscape.
The theme reflects a growing reality: communication today is more than speaking; it is witnessing. “Empowering Digital Missionary Disciples” means nurturing people who bring the presence of Christ into the digital world with clarity, creativity, and compassion. As Pope Francis once emphasized in his World Communications Day message, “Communication is ultimately a human rather than a technological achievement.” This insight reminds us that while tools and platforms evolve, the heart of communication remains rooted in authentic human connection guided by truth, love, and faith.
Digital missionaries are tasked not simply to create content, but to carry the Gospel into online spaces where people search for meaning, express struggles, and seek hope. Pope Francis challenges us, saying: “The digital world can be an environment rich in humanity; a network not of wires but of people.” In this spirit, the convention aims to empower communicators to be more than media ministers they are to become bridge-builders of dialogue, witnesses of truth, and sowers of hope.
Holding the convention at REMASE holds a deeper significance. As a seminary forming future shepherds, it now becomes a sacred ground for forming modern evangelizers in digital ministry. The gathering will offer theological reflection, practical workshops, and open conversations about responsible media ministry. From news writing, photography, videography and creating online pubmats, it leads to crafting messages that inspire rather than divide, wherein participants will be equipped to evangelize with both excellence and empathy.
In essence, the DADITAMA SoCCom Convention is not just an event. It is a mission. It calls for digital disciples who can speak with humility, act with mercy, and post with purpose. In a time of rapid information and rising disconnection, these digital missionaries are sent to be lights in the darkness and signs of hope in the noise empowered by faith and guided by love. May God bless the first-ever DADITAMA SoCCom Convention! (Allyza Hope J. Tabigue)

Posted at 09:59h, 01 JulyIt was a lifetime experience. I thank God and our parish, OMPH Bajada, for allowing me to join the event. Once again, we were directed to try to be the best version of everything we do, regardless of age, education, and experience, because our ultimate goal is to become sharers of good news, of the kingdom of God.
Thank you very much to all the people behind who made this undertaking a successful one.
Viva Jesus, Viva Sacred Heart of Jesus, Viva Maria, Viva Saints Peter and Paul. All these big celebrations were part of our convention.
Isn’t it amazing! I have or we have attended three (3) Holy Masses with three respected Bishops from the Diocese of Mati, Digos, and Davao.
Praise the Lord!
