PANAGHIMAMAT: Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Youth Apostolate 2025 Gathering

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Youth Apostolate was filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt prayers as it celebrated its much-awaited Panaghimamat 2025 Gathering on July 19, 2025, at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. With the powerful theme from Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in Hope, Endure in Afflictions, Persevere in Prayers.” The event brought together 380 young people, all eager to celebrate their faith, build friendships, and discover their important role in the Church.

The day opened with a beautiful Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Maximo Bahinting, parish priest, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Ritzchild John Cariaga, parochial vicar and spiritual director of the Youth Apostolate. During his homily, Fr. Max looked out at the sea of bright, youthful faces and couldn’t hide his joy. “The young people are not just the future but the now and the future of the Church. You play an important role in the Church,” he said, his voice full of encouragement. His message was a powerful reminder that the youth are not just spectators but active builders of the Church’s mission.

After the Mass, the atmosphere quickly shifted to one of pure celebration. The Opening Ceremony saw the youth dancing with energy during the animation, with cheers and smiles lighting up. It was a moment that perfectly captured the joy of being young and alive in faith.

The highlight of the morning was the plenary talk by Fr. Ritzchild John Cariaga. With heartfelt words and relatable examples, he unpacked the meaning of the day’s theme. “Rejoice in hope even when life is difficult, endure your trials with faith, and never forget the power of prayer,” he shared, reminding everyone that true strength comes from trusting God, especially during challenging times. The day continued with cheers, yells, and a series of fun yet meaningful activities that encouraged teamwork, leadership, and camaraderie. Laughter echoed through the air as participants worked hand-in-hand, creating bonds that will last beyond the event.

As the sun began to set, everyone gathered for the praise and worship session, a fitting end to the day’s celebration. With hands raised high, voices singing as one, and hearts lifted in prayer, the parish was filled with a spirit of gratitude and joy. Some participants closed their eyes, enjoyed in worship, while others couldn’t help but smile through tears. Panaghimamat 2025 was more than just a gathering, it was a reminder of how powerful it is when young hearts come together in faith. It was a day of hope, joy, and renewed purpose proof that the youth are not just the future of the Church, but its living, breathing present. (Kristelle Billones – Parish Youth Coordinator)
