Vocation Month’s Call To Holiness

This year’s Vocation Month launched in all the parishes of the Archdiocese of Davao November 1, 2025 with a call to holiness with its theme VOCATION: Called in Communion, Sent in Mission.

Supported by the Davao Vocation Promoters, the concelebrated mass with main celebrant Rev. Fr. Ronald Arcillas, Director for Vocations of the Archdiocese of Davao was held at the chapel of Davao Memorial Park was packed with more than 200 religious men and women with the laity and supporters.

Concelebrant and homilist Rev. Fr. Jose Junar dela Victoria, parish priest of Ascension of the Lord Parish, expressed gratitude and joy to all the religious men and women and the laity for attending the event by saying that he would “imagine heaven this way’ and echoed the Church’s universal call to holiness, as all the faithful celebrated the Solemnity of All Saints.

Fr. Dela Victoria explained that the militant church prays to the triumphant church, to the saints, ‘to intercede for us,” as they continue to encourage and inspire the faithful towards holiness.

“The only real great tragedy in life is not becoming a saint,” he quipped, and quoted Saint John Paul II that this is the real source of joy.

Vocation Director Fr. Arcillas also expressed gratitude to the 28 congregations present during the launching at DMPI and urged all parishes to celebrate Vocation Month in their own creative ways and echoed the call to all faithful to holiness.

He added that during the Solemnity of All Saints Day, “we are reminded of our call to holiness.” He explained that previously, Vocation Month is celebrated during the month of September and this is the first time that this is being celebrated in the month of November, “with the approval of our Archbishop.”

In their Facebook post, the Davao Vocation Promoters of the Archdiocese of Davao posted that each parish in the Archdiocese “joyfully kicked off Vocation Month 2025 with their own launching celebrations!
