The God Who Speaks

Matthew 28:19-20 gives us what Christians later called the Great Commission – the mission statement of the entire Church: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Before ascending into heaven, Jesus entrusted this Divine Task to the Apostles -and through them, to the whole Church. From that moment onward, the Word of God would be proclaimed to every nation, culture, and generation.

THE WORD BEFORE ALL TIME Hebrews 1:2 says that the Son is the one “whom God appointed heir of all things, and through whom He created the world.” And the Gospel of John reaches back to eternity itself: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1–2). Ito ang nagtatag ng napakahalagang katotohanan: bago pa tayo nalikha, bago pa ang mga bituin, ang Salita ng Diyos ay Buháy at umiiral.

THE BIBLE: GOD’S LOVE LETTER TO US For Christians, the Bible is not merely a masterpiece – it is a message. The Christian believes: • God speaks through Scripture • God reveals Himself in human words • God communicates His heart, His plan, His mercy, His truth • God meets us in the pages of the sacred text Though written by human authors, shaped by personalities, cultures, and historical contexts, the Scriptures are at the same time: • The Word of God • The Voice of the Father • The Love Letter of Heaven • The Story of God reaching out to us kaya naman, bilang mga Kristiyano, we reverence the Bible, love the Bible, and continually seek to understand it – not as distant spectators, but as beloved children listening to the voice of their Father.
