Holy Cross of Davao College asserted its dominance in the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA), bagging a total of 12 medals to top the cluster meet.
The Cross Blazers swept the championships across several major events, clinching gold in men’s football, women’s futsal, men’s and women’s indoor volleyball, men’s beach volleyball, men’s basketball, women’s 5×5 basketball, and the men’s and women’s taekwondo divisions.
“My heart is overflowing with pride and gratitude. The varsity teams of Holy Cross of Davao College truly performed exceptionally well in PRISAA, showcasing not only incredible talent but also discipline, teamwork, and unwavering determination,” said Pocholo Elegino, head of the HCDC Center for Wellness and Sports Excellence and one of the basketball coaches.
Contributing to the school’s overall tally, the women’s 3×3 basketball and men’s table tennis teams secured silver finishes, while the women’s beach volleyball team salvaged a bronze.
Elegino noted that the athletes’ successful campaign was heavily bolstered by the consistent support and guidance provided by the institution’s leadership.
”I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the administration of HCDC, especially to our beloved President, Br. Noelvic Deloria, for his unwavering support and steadfast commitment to our sports program,” he added.
Following this strong showing, HCDC solidified its footing in the local collegiate sports scene. The varsity teams will now return to training to prepare for the next level of athletic competitions. (Ana Patricia Bargio & Nely Jean Dalimoos | HCDC)
