Mindanao Communicators Hold Webinar on News Sharing and Networking

Social communicators and digital missionaries across Mindanao gathered online on Saturday, April 25, 2026, for the “Webinar on News Exchange & Networking: Session 1 – Building a Culture of News Sharing,” an initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration and communication within the Church.

The webinar highlighted the importance of news exchange in the Catholic Church as a vital tool in keeping the faithful informed, united, and engaged. Participants were encouraged to see communication not merely as information sharing, but as an essential part of the Church’s mission of evangelization—fostering trust, connection, and a sense of community among dioceses.

The session featured Rev. Msgr. Pedro “Pepe” Quitorio III as guest speaker, who shared insights on building a culture of responsible and proactive news sharing within Church networks. He emphasized the need for collaboration among communicators, encouraging dioceses to actively contribute stories that reflect the life and mission of the Church in their respective communities.

The webinar was also graced with the presence of Archbishop Rex Andrew Alarcon, Chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Social Communications, CBCP-ECSC Executive Secretary Mr. Edwin Lopez, and Radio Broadcast Franchise Office Director Rev. Fr. Francis Lucas, whose participation underscored the importance of strengthening communication efforts at both local and national levels.

The activity forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance communication networks within the Church, ensuring that stories of faith, service, and mission are shared more widely and meaningfully. (ECSC)
