Fr Roldan Baliano ordination May 2026

Our Active Youth Yesterday, Ordained Priest Today

His person is a remarkable individual who has recently achieved a significant milestone in his life. Raised in a humble family, he is the youngest of four siblings and the only son of Isabelo and Myrna Baliano, both of whom are now senior citizens.

Throughout his childhood, Dan, as his friends fondly called him, was known for his good behavior and dedication to his education and to serving the Lord. He spent 17 years at San Pedro Cathedral, where he served as Youth Coordinator, a lector, a member of the Youth Choir, and a Youth Formator.

He completed his college education at Ateneo de Davao University, where his commitment to support his family is reflected in the saying, “God gives you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). He quickly found a good job at Union Bank, where he worked for ten years.

Despite his professional success, he sought deeper fulfillment in his spiritual journey and subsequently entered Holy Apostles Seminary. Over six years of rigorous study and formation, he prepared for the priesthood.

On September 8, 2025, he was ordained as a Deacon, an important step in his spiritual journey.

On May 13, 2026, a pivotal moment in his life occurred as he was ordained as a priest, fulfilling his lifelong calling and purpose. The Archbishop of Davao, Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, DD, officiated the ordination of Fr. Roldan B. Baliano. During the ceremony, he recognized the family and friends of the newly ordained priest, emphasizing the significance of the date, which is associated with the title of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Fr. Roldan Baliano is a newly ordained priest of the Archdiocese of Davao, ready to serve the community and contribute to the spiritual growth of the faithful.

The First Holy Mass of the Newly Ordained Rev. Fr. Roldan B. Baliano

Last May 14, 2026, on the Feast of St. Matthias the Apostle, the faithful gathered in thanksgiving and joy for the First Holy Mass of the newly ordained Rev. Fr. Roldan B. Baliano (“Fr. Dan”). As he begins his priestly ministry, this meaningful celebration becomes a beautiful witness of God’s call and grace in his life. The celebration also included the cherished traditions of the Manutergium being presented to his mother and the giving of the First Confessional Stole to his father — symbols of gratitude and of the sacred role of parents in nurturing and supporting a vocation to the priesthood.

May the Lord, through the intercession of St. Matthias the Apostle, continue to guide and strengthen Fr. Dan as he faithfully serves God and His people in the vineyard of the Lord. (Rosalinda C. Jabonillo and Alexir Tupaz | San Pedro Cathedral SoCCom)
