Our Lady of Fatima Parish Holds Its 1st Parish Marian Exhibit
Faith and devotion shone at Our Lady of Fatima Parish during the 1st Parish Marian Exhibit held from May 3–13, 2026, with the theme, “Grounded with Christ, Nourished by the Blessed Mother,” at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Church, Aurora Quezon St., Poblacion District, Davao City.
The exhibit was officially launched during the 3:00 PM Sunday Mass on May 3, 2026, presided over and blessed by Rev. Fr. Michael Ondras Jr., Parochial Vicar of the parish. The event also marked the opening of the Flores de Mayo celebration.
The 10-day exhibit featured 18 Marian images, catechesis, devotional prayers, and the history of the images, as well as a video presentation highlighting the apparitions, dogmas, importance, and role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Catholic faith. The exhibit was attended by children from different zones and GKKs, Marian organizations, parish ministries, and other devotees from various parishes and dioceses, including the Archdiocese of Manila, as well as Marian pilgrims from different places.
The event was organized as part of the Worship Ministry’s preparations for the forthcoming Jubilee Celebration of the 75th Founding Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, headed by Rizza Fabro, Worship Coordinator of the parish. Throughout the celebration, the remaining nine days of the exhibit coincided with the 9-day Novena in Honor of Our Lady of Fatima for the Feast of the First Apparition.
The exhibit concluded on May 13, 2026, during the Feast of the First Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. The celebration began with the praying of the Rosary at dawn at 5:00 AM, followed by the offering of flowers and the Holy Mass at 6:00 AM. Despite the cancellation of the procession due to unexpected inclement weather, the faithful continued to attend the Holy Mass, pray the Rosary, and offer flowers to the Blessed Virgin Mary, showing their unwavering faith and devotion to Mother Mary.
Following the celebration, the parish and the organizing committee expressed their gratitude by awarding certificates to the exhibitors and to all the volunteers, Marian organizations, ministries, benefactors, and parishioners who supported and participated in the success of the 1st Parish Marian Exhibit. The successful celebration showcased the parish community’s Marian devotion and practices as they continue their spiritual journey toward the upcoming Jubilee Celebration. (Roy B. Halasan)
