Faith in Motion: Sto. Rosario Vicariate Prepares Float and Cultural Entry for San Pedro Cathedral Celebration

TORIL, DAVAO CITY — The Sto. Rosario Vicariate has begun preparations for the upcoming Grand Procession of San Pedro Cathedral scheduled on June 27, in preparation for the Feast of St. Peter on June 29. This year’s celebration carries the theme “La Flotilla de San Pedro,” which highlights the Church as a pilgrim community journeying together in faith under the guidance of St. Peter.

The initial planning for the Vicariate Float was undertaken during the regular Sto. Rosario Vicariate meeting held last Monday at 6:30 PM. All Parish Priests of the five parishes comprising the Vicariate were present, reflecting a spirit of communion, collaboration, and synodality in preparing for the Vicariate’s participation in the Archdiocesan celebration.

A follow-up meeting was held this morning at 9:30 AM with the Reyes Family of Dakong Balay, the official sponsors of the Sto. Rosario Vicariate Float. The Vicariate expressed its deep gratitude to Ronald Reyes, Bing Reyes, and their daughter Dianne for their generosity and support in this undertaking.

Their partnership is recognized as a meaningful expression of solidarity with the Church and a vital contribution to the realization of the Vicariate float.

In addition, St. Peter College of Toril has accepted the invitation to represent the Sto. Rosario Vicariate in the cultural presentation. Their participation is expected to showcase the creativity, talent, and faith of the young people of the Vicariate, enriching the celebration of Church life and mission.

As preparations continue, the Sto. Rosario Vicariate hopes that its involvement in the Grand Procession will serve not only as a cultural contribution but also as a visible sign of unity, faith, and shared mission among the faithful.

The Grand Procession will take place on June 27, leading to the Feast of St. Peter on June 29 at San Pedro Cathedral. (Jesse Hipolito)
