San Antonio De Padua Parish Night 2026

San Antonio De Padua Parish Night 2026

AGDAO, DAVAO CITY — June 12, 2026 — The faithful of San Antonio de Padua Parish gathered in a spirit of faith, fellowship, and celebration during the Parish Night 2026, held at the Holy Cross of Agdao Gymnasium as part of the parish’s preparation for the annual Fiesta Celebration in honor of its patron, St. Anthony of Padua.

The event brought together parishioners from the nine zones under the jurisdiction of San Antonio de Padua Parish, creating an atmosphere of unity and joy among the different GKKs. Different ministries, GKK servant leaders, and some Barangay officials participated in the celebration, which served as an opportunity to strengthen bonds of friendship and deepen their shared devotion to St. Anthony.

The entire program was carefully prepared and facilitated by the Parish Youth Apostolate (PYA), whose dedication and commitment contributed greatly to the success of the event. Through their efforts, the Parish Night became not only a social gathering but also a meaningful expression of faith and community spirit.

The program formally opened with inspiring remarks from the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Elvie Bordios, who expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the activity. In his message, Fr. Bordios emphasized the importance of having a patron saint within a community. He reminded the faithful that St. Anthony of Padua serves as a model of holiness and a powerful intercessor who continually accompanies the faithful through his prayers before God.

Fr. Bordios also encouraged parishioners to strengthen their relationship with Christ through active participation in the life of the Church, particularly through regular attendance at the Holy Eucharist. He invited everyone to remain steadfast in their faith by attending Sunday Masses and, whenever possible, participating in daily Mass celebrations.

One of the most anticipated highlights of the evening was the presentation of “KaSaDra” (Kanta, Sayaw, Drama) by the youth. This special performance was previously showcased during the Summer Youth Day organized by the Parish Youth Apostolate and was once again presented to inspire the wider parish community.

Through a combination of music, dance, and drama, the presentation conveyed a powerful message about faith, conversion, and family relationships. The story depicted individuals who experienced struggles, disappointments, and moments of spiritual emptiness that led them away from God. Amid their challenges, they eventually found hope and renewal through prayer and their devotion to St. Anthony of Padua, ultimately leading them back to a deeper encounter with Christ.

The performance also highlighted the significance of family relationships, portraying how love, forgiveness, understanding, and shared experiences help rebuild broken connections among family members. The audience was visibly moved by the meaningful storyline and the heartfelt performances delivered by the youth.

Adding excitement and enjoyment to the celebration were various parlor games and interactive activities that encouraged participation from everyone present. These games fostered camaraderie among parishioners and provided moments of laughter and fellowship, further strengthening the sense of community within the parish.

Throughout the evening, the gymnasium was filled with enthusiasm, smiles, and a spirit of gratitude as parishioners celebrated their shared faith and devotion. The active participation of the different zones demonstrated the unity and vibrancy of the parish community.

As the program concluded, many participants expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to gather as one parish family. The event served as a reminder that beyond festivities and traditions, the true essence of the fiesta lies in strengthening one’s relationship with God and fostering communion among His people.

The successful celebration of Parish Night 2026 stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Parish Youth Apostolate, parish ministries, GKK servant leaders, and the faithful of San Antonio de Padua Parish. More importantly, it reflected the living faith of a community united under the patronage of St. Anthony of Padua, joyfully preparing for the parish fiesta through prayer, fellowship, and service.

Indeed, Parish Night 2026 became a memorable celebration of faith, unity, and thanksgiving, bringing the parish community closer together as they honored their beloved patron and continued their journey as one family in Christ. (Harold Jhon A. Gimeno)
