32nd Patronal Fiesta of GKK OMPH Celebrated

The Our Mother of Perpetual Help (OMPH) GKK of Villa Park Subdivision, Cabantian, Davao City celebrated its 32nd Patronal Fiesta on June 12, 2026 with a theme “Birhen Maria: Sumbanan sa Pagka-maampoon ug Paglaum sa Nagapanaw nga Kristohanong Katilingban.” The theme reflects the GKK’s belief and recognition of Virgin Mary’s virtues which inspire and assure us of Her perpetual help – ever present, ever listening and ever loving Mother as we continue our journey as a hopeful GKK.

The 9-day Holy Rosary, Novena and Hiniusang Pag-ampo (HP) to Our Mother of Perpetual Help started on June 3, 2026 led by PSLs from the different GKKs of Zone 5. Relevant inputs were facilitated by invited resource person from the different parish ministries and organizations which deepened the understanding of our GKK members on the different topics shared and discussed. It was culminated by a Procession of the Image of Our Mother of Perpetual Help around the community joined by the GSL, TPB and members of the GKK.

On June 12, 2026, the Patronal Fiesta celebration was started by a Holy Mass at 8:00 o’clock in the morning presided by Rev. Fr. Orlando A. Angelia, DCD Parish Priest of St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish with Seminarian Junifer Francis Valde. The homily of Fr. Angelia emphasized on Mary’s maternal role as mother of Christ and as our mother too. That her maternal care is constant, unending, perpetual – kanunay anaa kanato. In the image, one of Jesus’s sandals slipping off is a symbolism which He turns to Mary in heed of His passion. Just like Jesus, we all have struggles and sufferings in life. The reality of suffering in real life. But Mama Mary’s embrace gives comfort from a mother and assurance that we are not alone. Fr. Angelia ended his homily with this message: “There is always God in history walking with us in history. Ang kasingkasing ni Hesus nga kanunay malumo ug mahigmaon kanatong tanan ug ang panabang ni Maria nagahatag kanato og paglaum, gives us an assurance of God’s never ending love. Hinaut pa nga magpuyo kita kanunay sa paglaum nga gihuptan taliwala sa mga pagsulay nga atong maagian”.

After the Holy Mass, a continues praying of the four mysteries of the Holy Rosary was done led by the GKK Servant Leaders (GSLs).
