Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Youth Camp 2026

THE YOUNG CHURCH IS MOVING: Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Youth Apostolate Parish Youth Camp 2026

From June 12-14, 2026, the young people of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish gathered at San Lorenzo College of Davao, Inc. for the long-awaited Parish Youth Camp 2026 with the theme, “ROOTED. RADIANT. READY: The Young Church in Mission.”

After two years since the last parish youth camp, the excitement, joy, and anticipation were evident among the participants as they came together for three days of faith, fellowship, learning, and fun. More than just a camp, it became a beautiful opportunity for young people to grow closer to God, build new friendships, and rediscover their place in the life and mission of the Church.

The camp officially opened with a Holy Mass presided by our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Maximo R. Bahinting, DCD, together with our Youth Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Ritzchild John S. Cariaga, DCD. Through their guidance and encouragement, the youth were reminded that they are not only the future of the Church but an important part of its mission today.

The three-day gathering was filled with meaningful activities from inspiring talks and faith-sharing sessions to team-building activities, animations, and the much-awaited socio-cultural night. The Parade of Colors, Cheers and Yells, and the Lighting of the Unity Torch showcased the enthusiasm and unity of the participants, while every activity provided opportunities to learn, laugh, and create lasting memories together.

Despite a few challenges along the way, the spirit of the campers remained strong. The experience became a reminder that growth often comes through both joyful moments and unexpected difficulties. Through teamwork, patience, and faith, the participants learned valuable lessons that extended far beyond the camp grounds.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the camp was the opportunity for prayer, reflection, and encounter with God. In the midst of the activities and excitement, the youth were invited to listen to God’s voice, deepen their faith, and reflect on how they can become instruments of His love in their families, schools, communities, and parish.

The camp concluded on June 14 with a Closing Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Junel E. Bustamante, DCD, Director of DAYCA, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Ritzchild John S. Cariaga, DCD. As the celebration came to an end, participants were reminded that the mission does not stop after the camp. Instead, they are sent forth to live what they have learned and continue serving God and His people.

The Parish Youth Camp 2026 was made possible through the support and generosity of our priests, core group, technical working group, GKK Servant Leaders and all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Most importantly, it was made possible through God’s grace, which guided every activity, every friendship formed, and every heart touched throughout the three-day journey.

As the campers returned to their respective communities, they carried with them not only memories and friendships, but also a renewed commitment to live out the theme of the camp to be deeply rooted in Christ, radiant in faith, and always ready to answer God’s call to mission.

Indeed, the young Church is alive, and it continues to shine through the hearts of our young people. (Kristelle D. Billones – Parish Youth Coordinator)
