CFL-PSKB Annual Assembly Unites Families in Faith and Mission
Hundreds of members of the Christian Family and Parish Support for Kristiyanong Buhay (CFL-PSKB) gathered for their 11th CFL/PSKB Annual Assembly on July 25, 2026 at the St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish Gym in Buhangin, Davao City, renewing their commitment to building stronger families and becoming instruments of peace through the spirit of synodality.
Carrying the theme, “Peace in the World in the Spirit of Synodality,” the annual gathering brought together parish and vicariate representatives from across the Archdiocese of Davao for a day of prayer, formation, fellowship, and thanksgiving. The assembly emphasized that lasting peace begins within the family and flourishes when the faithful journey together in communion, participation, and mission.
The program opened with the arrival and registration of participants, followed by worship, opening prayer, and animation. Rev. Fr. Orlando A. Angelia, CFL Director, welcomed the delegates and encouraged them to remain steadfast in strengthening Christian family life.
Formation continued through an inspirational talk by Rev. Msgr. Edgar Labagala, Formator of the St. Francis Xavier Propaedeutic Year highlighting on the importance of family dynamics.
The highlight of the gathering was the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., Archbishop of Davao, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Orlando Angelia, CFL Director and Parish Priest of St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish Buhangin, Rev. Fr. Evan Esmade, CFL Vice-Director and Rev. Fr. Severino Capulong Jr., Parish Priest of San Alfonso Maria de Liguori Parish Mandug reminding the faithful that Christ is the source of unity and peace.
The afternoon programme honoured grandparents and the elderly through a recognition ceremony and serenade, acknowledging their enduring witness of faith and their important role in passing on Christian values.
The event also featured presentations, raffle draws, fellowship activities, and the distribution of tokens. Various committees, parish coordinators, vicariate heads, and volunteers collaborated to ensure the success of the assembly.
Concluding with a closing prayer, participants returned to their parishes inspired to continue building stronger Christian families and promoting peace through the spirit of synodality. (Bernadette Esperance)
