The St. Joseph the Worker Parish MES Batch 124: An Incredible Journey of Love, Healing, and Renewal

The recently concluded Marriage Enrichment Seminar (MES) Batch 124 was truly an incredible and unforgettable experience for all of us—the 10 participating couples.

Held on August 29–30, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the 2nd Floor Pastoral Building, St. Joseph the Worker Parish, the two-day seminar was more than just a program. It became a meaningful journey of reconnection, healing, reflection, forgiveness, and renewal.

This was a well-planned and thoughtfully prepared MES. From the physical arrangements, the food, the program flow, and the carefully prepared contents, to the Decalogue and the intimate activities, every detail was clearly well thought out. The contents were meaningful, realistic, and relevant to the actual experiences and challenges of married couples. They were not merely theoretical discussions; they reflected real-life situations that couples could relate to, helping us look honestly at our own relationships, appreciate our strengths, acknowledge our struggles, and recognize areas where we can grow together.

Each activity and every part of the program contributed to creating an atmosphere where couples could feel comfortable, safe, and open to one another.

And indeed, it was an amazing experience—truly beyond expectations!

The seminar was made even more meaningful through the guidance and sharing of our dedicated speakers from the Archdiocese Commission on Family and Life, headed by its Coordinator, Ma’am Lilia Aventurado, together with our own parish priest, Rev. Fr. Roy Mejias. Fr. Roy shared a particularly meaningful reflection on Topic 2: “Love and Spirituality of Marriage,” reminding us that authentic married love is not only about human affection and commitment, but is strengthened by faith, prayer, and God’s presence in the marriage.

Throughout the seminar, couples were given the precious opportunity to slow down, open their hearts, and engage in meaningful one-on-one conversations. They were able to share not only the beautiful and positive experiences of their married life, but also the hurts, struggles, disappointments, misunderstandings, and challenges they had quietly carried through the years.

There were tears, laughter, moments of silence, heartfelt conversations, forgiveness, and warm embraces. Emotions flowed freely. Couples were given the courage to be vulnerable and, perhaps more importantly, the opportunity to truly listen to each other.

It was overwhelming and deeply moving to witness how honest communication, openness, and the willingness to understand could begin to heal wounds and rebuild relationships.

One particularly touching testimony came from a couple whose marriage was already on the verge of falling apart. Through their MES experience, they were given the opportunity to confront their struggles, express the pain they had kept inside, and rediscover the love that had somehow been buried beneath the difficulties of married life. By the end of the seminar, their bond was restored, their hearts were renewed, and the flame of love was rekindled.

This is the beauty and power of MES. It creates a space where couples can pause, reconnect, forgive, heal, and choose each other once again.

A Heartfelt Thank You

To all the members of the working committee especially the PSKB—you know who you are—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are deeply grateful for everything you have done for us, the participants.

We may not have seen all the preparations, sacrifices, sleepless moments, and countless details that happened behind the scenes, but we certainly felt the love, dedication, and hard work that you poured into making this MES a success.

We appreciate each one of you and all the hard work that made our MES experience truly wonderful.

Your service, generosity, and commitment have touched not only the success of the program but, more importantly, the hearts and marriages of the couples who participated.

A Special Commendation

Truly, we are grateful, and I would especially like to commend the leadership of our MES Lead, Ate Edith Lee. Your leadership, dedication, and commitment were evident in every detail of this beautiful experience. And I am sure that, in spirit, Kuya Tots was there with us.

A special mention to Ate Susan Andoy, the Bacquial Couple, Brod. Norman Gravino, and the Ate Edith Rosales, Ate Judith Tapiador, Ate Delia Patayon, Manang Lorna, and the Manguilimotan couple. Their presence, support, and contributions continue to be part of the spirit that makes MES meaningful and transformative.

To each and every one of you, thank you for saying yes to this mission of strengthening marriages and families.

MES Batch 124 was more than a seminar. It was a celebration of love, a journey toward healing, and a reminder that marriages are worth fighting for.

Indeed, when couples choose to communicate, listen, forgive, and walk together—with God at the center—love can be rekindled, broken bonds can be restored, and marriages can be renewed.

And as we look back on this beautiful journey, one message from our theme song captures the very essence of what marriage is called to be: to hold each other’s hands, to remain faithful, and to never let go, especially through life’s difficult journeys.

Our Batch theme song:

“Hawak kamay, di kita iiwan sa paglakbay…. Di kita bibitawan sa paglakbay.”

May these words remain in our hearts—not only as the theme of our MES, but as a promise to our spouses and to one another: “Hawak kamay. Hindi kita iiwan. Hindi kita bibitawan.”

Because marriage is a journey. And with love, commitment, faith, and God at the center, we will continue to walk together—hand in hand, heart to heart, and never alone.
